Q: How do college applications stress seniors out? Do they have an impact on seniors’ lives?
A: In my point of view, college applications have a huge impact on seniors. Whether you are applying outside of Egypt or in Egypt, the process itself can turn one’s life into a nightmare. The problem is meeting the deadline of all the college requirements, which can sometimes become a hassle. College applications can become stressful in many ways. When you are applying to a desired university, you are constantly wondering whether they will accept you or not. If you get accepted to at least one of your choices, you then start to feel that you have at least have a seat somewhere. It is when you do not have a seat, that you start to worry all the time. My advice to the coming senior classes is to start as early as possible to avoid cramming in before the deadline.

Q: I have been going to the gym for a month. I still do not see a difference in my body. What should I do?
A: I have the perfect answer for you. First of all, ask yourself what are you doing at the gym? Is your training pretty intense? You should spend about one hour and a half at the gym. More than that is a lot and less than that is too little. Pace yourself, if you go to the gym three times a week, then each time work different muscles. For example, one day work your biceps and your chest, the next day your legs and back, and the third day your shoulders and triceps. Do sit-ups after your workout. Then, there comes the role of your nutrion, that’s a big one. Eat a well-balanced diet. Refer to the food pyramid for your basic nutrients. Before going to the gym, eat carbohydrates for energy, and protein after your workout. In addition, the most important thing is sleeping well. Believe it or not, muscles grow while sleeping. If you are not sleeping well, then you will not grow in muscle development as you normally should. A piece of advice from me is to do cardio to keep your body lean. Cardio is important since working out builds muscle, but also there is a small layer of fat above the muscle. If you do not lose it by running or by cardio activity, your body will not look defined at all.

Q: I always fall for the wrong person. What should I do?
A: Think about what you want. The first step is to know what you want. Choose a person that would make a better person out of you. The second step is adjusting to that person. By that, I mean changing for the better. We all have flaws; ask a close friend, ask him or her how he or she thinks you should change. Finally is to pursue him or her, this step can be a hard one. You have to play it right. By pursing the person, I DO NOT mean going after him twenty four seven, but rather maintaining a close distance.
